Summer Lee is a Pennsylvania state legislator and dedicated organizer, activist, and advocate for social justice. In 2018, Summer decided that real changes were needed across the district, and that the inequitable status quo couldn’t continue. Winning with more than 60 percent of the vote in a race against a 20-year incumbent, Summer became the first Black woman from Southwestern Pennsylvania to hold the office of State Representative. Summer has been a voice for people across the district – championing initiatives that support sustainable jobs, environmental responsibility, police accountability, and gender and racial equity. She is a tireless advocate for workers’ rights, union protections, and the fight for a livable wage. Summer also brought millions back to her community for infrastructure upgrades and community revitalization. Now, she’s taking the fight to Washington.
